A masterplan that prioritises spaces for people, not grids of car parking places.
Parking is provided in two stacked car parks hidden from view, with residential units above, thereby giving over the entire public realm to spaces for people, not grids of car parking places.
Parking does not dominate and is taken to the quieter corners of the site, allowing buildings and public spaces to connect and enhance the experience and well being of the public.
The parking strategy from the outset has been to locate the majority of cars in two large peripheral zones.
A smaller undercroft car park is situated beneath the Merchants’ Courtyard to take advantage of the level change from the higher level of the courtyard to the pedestrian link that runs along the commercial block to the north of the courtyard which links to Kingsway.

A pedestrian and cycle priority masterplan is created by this strategy.
There will be provision for delivery and disabled parking bays along Merchants’ Avenue and close to homes in residential areas which include the Hill Village, the Central Mixed-Use, and East Residential Quarters.
